Arts Society

At the recent AGM, Joye Woodhead was elected Chairman, Richard Collett Treasurer, Ann Murray Secretary with Michael Woodhead, Allan Humphries, Sue Phipps and Jo Ferrari making up the rest of the Committee.
We were delighted to welcome Wilma Mee to the Committee as well, making up a full Committee for the first time.
Subscriptions were held at £12.50 and are now due. Ann was inundated with Film suggestions for next session and would be sending these out for people to vote on very shortly. Also, there would be a Magic Evening on 10th October, followed by the usual very popular Christmas Dinner in December.

Christmas Dinner
This year will be on Saturday 15th December.
A Magic Evening arranged by Allan Humphries and the Derby Magic
Circle will be held in the Village Hall on 20th October. Tickets are £8.00, to include a drink and a pate, Cheese and Pickle Supper and can be bought from Ann Murray (591181), Allan Humphries (590975) or any member of the Committee.

Grand Choral Concert

The Marston Arts Society are combining with St. Andrew’s Church in Cubley in presenting a Grand Choral Concert by the Nationally Famous Leigh on Sea Orpheus Male Voice Choir. They are touring Derby and ending with a Concert in Lincoln Cathedral. Our Concert is at 7.30pm on Friday 2nd November in St. Andrew’s Church, Cubley.
There are upwards of 60 in the Choir and the programme is light hearted as well as serious; it is destined to be a great performance.
Tickets are £12 which includes a drink and refreshments, and are available from Ann Murray Tel 591181 or Michael Woodhead 590472.
It will be a concert to remember!

Thank you to all who supported our recent Magic Evening and helped to make it such an entertaining evening.
